About the Coach:
Coach Dan brings over 27 years of experience to the soccer field and currently serves as a coach and mentor to athletes across multiple levels of the game.
He spent 8 years as a Head Coach for the New Jersey State Olympic Development Program (ODP) and 7 years as a Head Coach for the US Soccer Regional ODP, helping identify and develop some of the region’s top talent. At the collegiate level, he served as an Assistant Coach for the Fairleigh Dickinson University (D3) Women’s Soccer Team for 3 seasons.
Ortiz has coached various youth teams at the Players Development Academy (PDA) for 6 years and was an Assistant Coach for the Ocean City Nor’easters Men’s Semi-Pro Team for 3 seasons. Over the years, he has also provided one-on-one training to countless players, developing their skills and preparing them for the next level of competition.
In addition to his coaching experience, Ortiz has refereed soccer for 7 years, officiating NCAA Division I, II, and III matches, as well as US Soccer amateur and semi-pro leagues and youth competitions. He also referees basketball and has been doing so for the past 6 years.
He holds both the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “B” and National “C” Coaching Licenses.
Coach Ortiz lives in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, with his son Joshua. He gives all glory, honor, and praise to God for the skills, opportunities, and accomplishments he has been blessed with throughout his journey.
